Tutorials
Okay, for those on the team who need help or are trying to do some level design, and for the visitors who would like to learn a little bit of it. I have included a Tutorial on Creating a level using the Genesis3D engine. Sadly, this tutorial does not include any screenshots, but it is very hands on and hard not to understand, You can find this tutorial on the new Tutorials Page, it will be the first, but i will try to include more as time goes by. Take note however, it is not going to be an extraordinary level, though you could tweak it to be very nice when you fully understand it, but it will be a good start for anyone who wants to pursue level design. I hope that the tutorial helps. -Vega

Team Info
Attention members of Random Purple Games. The following is a list of references that will help with most fields of basic game design. "Mastering Unreal Technology" is a book that has in depth coverage of level design using the Unreal engine. It also has great sections on about every area of development. I would advise any serious designers to pick up a copy of this book. It will run you fifty bucks, but it's worth it. Genesis3d is a great engine to start off with, but even this engine can be a little difficult to use for a beginner. If you go to Stormthecastle.com, the site owner will have a step by step tutorial of creating a room, with objects and textures. This is not very extravagent when it comes to games, but creating your first level is a huge first step. Soon you will understand the format of most engines and run through development time with ease. I will leave a link for this tutorial on the links page for you all to use. 3D studiomax is another engine that is similar to the Genesis 3D one but with more complex structure, i would advise that you master the Genesis before you try this engine. I will leave a link for this engine as well. I would advise anyone who needs more information on how to properly take to their role in a development team to pick up a book on it in the technology and computers section of Borders. These books really help to tweak your skills and most come with a CD-Rom including Programs like Maya, Photoshop, Engines and more. Be sure to study up.
